The research project, “German-Vietnamese Collaborative Project on Resource-efficient Construction using Sustainable Building Materials” (ReBuMat) seeks to promote research and develop building materials and construction methods for energy-efficient, resource-saving and generally sustainable construction practices in Vietnam and other contexts with similar conditions.

Furthermore, through international networking and interdisciplinary problem analysis, fundamental research and creative practice orientation, ReBuMat aims to transfer scientific results and knowledge-based standards into practical construction and planning in the world’s regions with dynamic construction activity.

An important part of our networking is to bring together researchers, practitioners, firms and building sector stakeholders at two connected symposia.

Agenda

International Symposium on Resource-Efficient Construction using Sustainable Building Materials

The first ReBuMat Symposium of 2024 was held in Hanoi from May 13-17. The documentation of the Symposium week can be found here.

The program for the first symposium featured various formats aimed at bringing together colleagues, partners, and researchers to discuss the topics mentioned. Participants are invited to engage in workshops focused on straw bale building and compressed mud house, providing an opportunity to explore solutions involving bio-based and circular materials within Vietnam’s construction sector. Further information can be found in the accompanying flyer.

Presentations, Publications and Documents can be found here.
